two men applying new plaster to a recently sandblasted pool.

Is it time you considered new plaster for your pool? If your pool’s plaster is stained and looking worn, you might want to consider having your pool re-plastered. Likewise, if the plaster has started to thin out too much or is bare in some spots than it is probably time to get new plaster.

Staining or discoloration of the plaster is one of the most common reason people re-plaster their pools. While some kinds of staining could be normal and the plaster may still be good, one of the quickest and easiest ways to get your pool looking like new is to get new plaster. Depending on the type of staining on the plaster, our Certified Service Technicians may want to look at other areas of the pool, so that the stains don’t return.

If your pool plaster has some bare spots or is thinning, then it is definitely time for new plaster.  Bare spots in the plaster can let water through to the structure of the pool, and can affect the integrity of the pool. While these bare spots can be patched, it may not be aesthetically appealing, and one is usually just the start. As a pool ages, more and more patches will need to be applied.

Neave Pools has Certified Service Technicians who will not only be able to advise you on whether or not a new plaster is required, but know the right way to prepare and re-plaster your pool to avoid many common problems that can affect new plaster.

Once you have new plaster on your pool it is important to pay attention to the chemistry of your pool. Proper pool chemistry is essential following re-plastering so that your new pool finish won’t stain, and will last as long as possible.

If you require new plaster on your pool, or simply an inspection to see what work needs to be done, contact Neave Pools today.

Testimonials

Designed and installed a pool that was really nice, a smaller version of the sort you’d see at community centers. It’s convenient to have a pool there, but also it’s good-looking enough for it to be pleasant just to be around.
